In today`s tutorial, I will make an office chair in 2D by using AutoCAD. I will draw a chair in two views; first is front view and second is top view. Beginners can easily draw such type of office chair; however, they have to take care of following steps during working with AutoCAD.
Following steps will be used for drawing an office chair:
Step 1
To start with, I will run AutoCAD software in my computer. First, I will start drawing of chair in top view. Then, I will draw two rectangles of same length in parallel orientation. After that, I will select “Circle”. By using this circle, I will decrease the sharpness of corner. In this kind of drawing, I need “Trim” tool frequently, because “Trim” tool is very helpful in correcting the line.
Step 2
Now I will create a seat of chair. I will need to use “Fillet”. Because of using Fillet, I will make smooth edge as per my requirement. I will also make a back support of chair by using “Arc” functionality of AutoCAD. This way, I have completed the top view of office chair.
Now, I will create the front view of office chair. So let’s move ahead.
Step 3
First, I would require making wheels of chair. For that, I will make three circle of same radius and one of them will be placed in the middle of chair because its orientation is different from other two. After that, I will build a stand of chair by using “Line”.
Step 4
Now, I am ready to create upper part of chair. It will require the use of “Multiline” tool again and again. Finally, I will manage both views of the chair in the screen. Overall, this drawing of chair is more detailed and complex than the previous one i.e. simple house.
